GHESP Partners with Local PTA
Atlanta, GA, February 17, 2005—The Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan (GHESP) partnered with the Parent Teacher Association of Annistown Elementary, a Gwinnett County school, to promote the importance of saving for college. The campaign was started in early December 2004 and culminated on February 17, 2005 with a drawing for three $150 GHESP scholarship accounts. Annistown Elementary parents learned why it is important to save for college and why starting earlier is better than later. But more importantly, the students got excited about their educational future. Our GHESP scholarship account winners, Maya Polk, Amirah Swann and Stephanie Worley, were all thrilled to receive their scholarship awards. While these young ladies were uncertain about which college they plan to attend, all three elementary students had no doubt that they will go to college. Congratulations to Maya, Amirah and Stephanie!
